Generate leads following an 8 step social media strategy
In an earlier blog post we spoke about the importance of creating a content marketing strategy for your network marketing business. An important piece of that strategy will be social media. Billions of people are on social media each day and it is a great platform for any kind of marketer to get thousands of eyeballs on his business. However entering the social media marketing landscape, where to start and what to do on an ongoing basis can be daunting and frustrating. It is important to develop a strong social media strategy before you get started.
How and where to start my social media marketing strategy?
Before you decide on which channels to use in your social media strategy, do your research to see what type of user is on each social channel. These are just general ideas but if your business is in the home and design industry, Beauty and Fashion, or even the food industry, both Instagram and Pinterest are great places for visual posting. LinkedIn is more of a professional based social media network, good for businesses, executives, and job hunters. Google+ is more of an educational, informational based network, good for professionals in a range of businesses, but it also has some of the basic casual social feel of Facebook. Twitter covers all areas, but requires more posting–several times a day at least. While they advocate using as many social media channels as you can, if you are managing your social media networking and running your business, you normally wouldn´t have time to devote energy to more than one or two social media channels. But today there are plenty of apps and software around to cover your back.
Once you’ve determined which social media networks to use, follow these 8 steps to get the most out of your social media marketing.
- Utilize Multiple Channels
- Develop a long-term plan for each channel
- Do research and use keywords to target your audience
- Be consistent marketing the content you created
- ENGAGE: re-post, re-tweet, respond to questions and comments
- Cross Promote a social media channel on your other channels
- Track your results using social media monitoring
- Optimize your advertising
